about

A song about what the title of the track suggests

lyrics

Tall beige walls surround the biggest malls
suburbia falls when the desert calls
burgers, sushi, sunrise salad
yacht rock radio, cheesy ballads
entering freeway 405
I hope we make it down to L.A alive
Brad Pitt billboards on Hollywood streets
undersized over priced penthouse suites

Nuthin ever looks like it does in the movies
especially black and white ones they're so groovy
Nuthin ever looks like it does in the movies

Are there any more cool dark dank bars?
Any info please let me know where they are
with a booth or two, a juke box too
a piano in the corner for the Tom Waits mourner
Nuthin ever looks like it does in the movies
Especially black and white ones well they're so groovy
Stairwell shadows climb up deco hotels
Handsome men with their beautiful belles
Igor's mashing it up real fine
He's a soul singer for the modern times

Every Friday afternoon you'll find the bottle shops crazed
workers won't stop drinking till their week is erased
Saturday morning sun seems brighter
coffee yawning for the bacon biter
Thugby, sport club, dog is happy
Red light ticket, so damn crappy
try to have a chat with the father in-law
but he stares straight ahead and hardly moves his jaw

Nuthin ever looks like it does in the movies
especially black and white ones they're so groovy
Nuthin ever looks like it does in the movies

Men act like boys, most of them are
they never grow up so they'll never go far
this meat is worth singing about it tastes like fire
I aint got a car but I got a spare tyre
Plastic bags filled with bottled water
the internet has kidnapped my beautiful daughter
minor setback with my fruit toast burnin
psychologist said it's not to concerning
but just in case it happens again
take this medication and you'l find Zen

Doodlin with your finger on the foggy window pain
lost in plan swirling round in your brain
if you keep sippin on sap from the psychedelic tree
you'll be crying for your mother, you'll be down on your knees
Box car frames in the boneyard burnin
Children teaching adults but their still not learning
One road goes east and the other goes west
either or good luck, all the best

Nuthin ever looks like it does in the movies
especially black and white ones they're so groovy
Nuthin ever looks like it does in the movies

about

Tim Oxley Molong, Australia

Hi,Ive been writing n singing songs since I was 16 yrs old.
I have travelled around, met lots of colourful characters and seen many a beautiful day.
I grew up across from the Coral sea in Kingscliff ,north NSW.
It was there I learnt how to surf, fish, play drums and a few guitar chords and write songs.
See you on the road sometime.
